One of the hardware manufacturers who I work with at Payton actively develops their software and hardware to run with MS-DOS 6.22. The advantage of this is that while they haven't really documented how it all works, I can do two things:

--> Put standard components in thier boxes rather than pay them $200 for a NIC, for example
--> Load their software on Virtual PC and it works just as well with a bit of tweaking

Actually not sure where my MS-DOS registration card is <g>. I'l lprobably add a enw section the the blog in the coming weeks dealing with Strand's lighting consoles and write up everything I did to get it running on VMWare (Virtual PC it doesn't work for some reason) and adding off the shelf components to their hardware.
